Saggas collaborates in the construction of a new bird observatory in Marjal dels Moros

Saggas has collaborated in the construction of a new bird observatory located in the Fanegas area in Marjal dels Moros. The inauguration of this new infrastructure took place last Friday and was attended by the Director General of Quality and Environmental Education, Jorge Blanco, the Director General of Environment, Raúl Mérida, the Director General of Saggas, Santiago Álvarez, and the Head of Environment and Sustainability at the plant, Inés Picazo.

The construction of this new observatory is part of the collaboration agreement that Saggas maintains with the Generalitat Valenciana, through the Center for Environmental Education of the Valencian Community (CEACV). This agreement, first signed in 2018 and renewed in 2022, aims to contribute equipment from Saggas to improve the public-use infrastructure of this natural park, which was affected by a fire, as well as to foster cooperation between the staff of both entities in the implementation of environmental education programs.

Since the implementation of this agreement, Saggas has collaborated to repair and significantly improve the public-use facilities along the main route. The observatory inaugurated this Friday is a completely new infrastructure located in an ideal spot for observing aquatic birds. The Marjal dels Moros is a site of great environmental, heritage, and strategic value, part of the Natura 2000 network, and is considered a Special Protection Area for Birds.
