The Sagunto regasification plant has increased its production by 32% in 2021, with a total of 27,247 GWh compared to the 20,659 GWh produced the previous year. In total, the plant has handled 1.88 million tons of LNG. These data mean that Saggas has regasified 12.6% of the LNG introduced into the Spanish gas system.
In 2021, Saggas has unloaded 38 ships from countries such as Algeria, the United States, Nigeria, Qatar, Russia, Egypt, Trinidad and Tobago, Equatorial Guinea and Peru. Likewise, the plant has loaded 7,824 tank trucks, with a total of 146,461 tons, and has carried out 6 loading operations to ships, to which it has supplied 213,996 tons of LNG.
Currently, the plant is immersed in a project to adapt its dock to be able to serve LNG loads to small ships that will allow them to supply this type of fuel to other ships. This project, which has an execution deadline until this year, is part of the “LNGHive2: Infrastructure and Logistics Solutions” program, co-financed by the Connecting Europe mechanism (CEF) of the European Commission.
